Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that the opportunities and privileges I benefit from are built on lands taken from First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. While I have been able to live, work, and thrive, Indigenous peoples have been systematically denied those same rights through the erasure of their sovereignty, suppression of culture, targeted violence, systemic racism, and ongoing colonial policies. This injustice continues to shape realities for Indigenous communities today.
I live and work on the traditional territory of the Quw’utsun (Cowichan) people, part of the Hul’q’umi’num-speaking Coast Salish Nations. Specifically, I reside on the ancestral lands of the Meluxulh people and the traditional territory of the Malahat Nation.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to support clients remotely, including those based across Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 territories, the traditional lands of the Dene and Cree peoples, and part of the historic homeland of the Métis.
I am deeply grateful to live, learn, and work in these territories. It is a privilege to collaborate with Indigenous colleagues, communities, and friends in the ongoing work of healing, cultural revitalization, and reconciliation. This is a responsibility I hold with respect and intention, every day.
